Meter Reading & Billing

Photo of an Itron meter.Sullivan County REC is in the process of changing meters to Automatic Meter Reading (AMR). If you have an AMR meter then meter readings are collected automatically and you do not have to read your meter.

If you do not have an AMR then read your meter at the same time each month to avoid monthly fluctuations.

Utilize the green "Manage Account" icon located on the lower left hand side of the home page to enter your current meter reading. You can also submit your meter reading utilizing the right side of each bill. Submit your reading along with your payment to the cooperative by the 20th of the month.

Each electric bill will be based upon the prior month's meter reading. Remember to read your meter and forward the reading to the office on a regular basis to insure an accurate electric bill. The cooperative checks meter readings on a periodic basis.

Note: If you are a seasonal consumer and you do not yet have an AMR, your meter will be read by the cooperative on an annual basis during the month of April. All seasonal accounts will be converted to AMR and monthly billing over the new few years.  If you are a large power consumer or have a demand meter, your account will be read by the cooperative around the 25th of each month. Due to their complexity, these demand meters must be read by cooperative employees.
